Secret white sheet

Last night, I closed my weary eyes,

Dreaming of dawn, of golden skies.

A day so bright, so full of grace,

Yet morning wept with a frozen face.

The earth now sleeps in a shroud so white,

Whispering secrets lost in night.

Snow has hushed the songs once sung,

A silent tale, yet to be begun.

If only I could sleep so deep,

Bury my wounds, my fears to keep.

If only the world would turn away,

Let me rest in the shade of grey.

But no—this world won’t let me hide,

It pulls and breaks, it won’t abide.

Oh, to be snow, so cold, so free,

Fading into eternity.
